Enlightenment.... A wonderful Desktop Environment !
Truly an 'enlightening experience' , hence the name !

OS: Linux Mint 12 - LISA

DE: Enlightenment (downloaded from synaptic package manager)

Wallpaper : Linux ave ways by sakasa => [link] (my humble suggestion : all wall paper hunters and enthusiasts should have a visit to his wonderful creations... )

Enlightenment Theme: A-Bodhi 7 by verdegal37 => [link]

Mouse Pointer: FlyOS by GrynayS => [link]

GTK theme: BiSOFT-G3 by BiSOFT => [link]

Icon Theme: BiSOFT Iconpack -G3 by BiSOFT => [link]

App Icons on the Shelf: 170 dock icons by adrenn => [link]

Gkrellm theme: Snowy.gkrellm

Activated the compositing in enlightenment and the effects were truly awesome ! Felt i should share this !

All credits to the original authors of the respective artworks who have inspired me to arrive at this setup ! Thank you for visiting this page for a preview.

How light is E17 exactly? is it in the same ballpark as LXDE?
rvc-2011 Aug 8, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
i havent used LXDE but may be i ll get into it soon (just finished installing Hybryde and it has default install of 9 DE where LXDE is included)
talking of e17, its fairly light and it loads fast with its own compositing manager to give you the desired desktop effects.
you will like the environment for sure...

e17 is surely is a pleasing environment to use... i can say that much !

yes, enlightenment seems to be equally fast and eye candy...
thank you for your compliments champ !
Cool, but I cannot see indicators for running tasks anywhere? Maybe you have some
completely own system?

i installed it on my linux mint from synaptic. for active windows open, you can simply left click (right click doesnt work on desktop where as it works on the gadgets in the shelf) on the desktop and look at the option windows > that will show you the running tasks. functionality differs from DE to DE and i found this out during my exploration champ !

thank you for your compliments
Yeah I know having tasks in the menu is kinda usual,
however is not very effective, anyways, if it works
for u! I figured you had some other more advanced way.

i think you neeed to install taskbar gadget to display active icons..
am now searching on google on how to go abt installing a gadget in e !
Ic, it's very modular then.
